Hello my loves I hope you are all well I’m so happy to be back blogging. I had around a week off because I just did not feel well at all and staring at a bright laptop screen would have killed me! ( I’m so over dramatic). But I thought I would tell you about my skin care routine as I am really enjoying reading them!
My skin is normal to dry but it is very sensitive. I have never really had acne or seriously bad breakouts on my face but recently it has gotten quite bad. A small company sent me a skin care product and this is no shade towards them I definitely think it was just my skin being so sensitive but it caused my face to just be sore and spotty every time I used it but I thought I would keep trying it because sometimes your face gets worse before it can get better. I feel like I am rambling but to keep the story short I ended up not working with the company and it is all good. So I am still in the process of getting my skin back to the way it was but using the products I have been using I have seen a massive improvement to my skin!
To take off my makeup I use either one of three things either the L’Oréal Micellar water the Garnier Micellar Cleaning water or recently I have been trying the Garnier Micellar Cleansing gel wash. I really like all three of these, I have a post coming up soon about which one works best and I go into more detail if you don’t know what one you think would be best for your skin!
So when I am in the washing my face I like to use the Clean and Clear Exfoliating daily wash I have been using this for years and its such a necessity to my daily skin care routine this has little micro beads that helps to clean the skin and unblock pores (which can lead to spots) and get rid of any dead skin cells. You basically just apply this once you’ve wet your face then you massage it in and then rinse thoroughly! The other good thing about this is that the product lasts a very long time I use it every day and I cannot remember when I last bought it!
Once I have done this I then apply a moisturizer I use the Zerobase Emollient cream this helps to protect red, inflamed and dry skin I use this twice a day before I put my makeup on and then before I go to bed (you don’t have to just use this on your face). If you have eczema like myself apparently you can apply this before a bath and it helps stop the dry patches getting worse, I haven’t tried that though! An alternative to this moisturizer would be Vaseline I tried this and it really worked I wouldn’t recommend putting it on before your makeup as your face will go very greasy!
For Facemasks I like to use L’Oréal’s Pure Clay Detox Mask I use this around 1-2 times a week this just helps to detox and clarify my skin. I really notice the difference in my skin when I use this mask it feels a lot more smooth and clear from any blemishes.
So that is it for my skincare routine this spring, I know I definitely don’t use as many products as other people but Once I start putting a lot of different stuff on my skin that’s when my skin breaks out so I like to keep it very simple!
Thank you so much for reading!
Lots of love, Saskia xo
